In Progress Installations in Windows XP

A halted installation can prevent new software from being installed. To see if there is already an installation in progress you can look at your registry.
If software is in the middle of installing there will be a “InProgress” key located at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\windows\CurrenVersion\Installer.
