InDesign Crashes when Generating an Index
If InDesign crashes every time you attempt to create an index then follow the solutions below in order to resolve the problem.
Check to see if the document you’re attempting to index was ever a Pagemaker file by checking the document history in the component information window.
If the document was ever a Pagemaker file then follow the steps below.
- Windows>Types & Tables> Index
- Generate Index
- More Options
- Delete all entry separators
This should resolve the problem. You can re-enter entry separators after the crashing issue has been resolved
