“Licensing for this product has stopped working. You cannot use this product at this time” Adobe CS3 Mac Error

Licensing for this product has stopped working. You cannot use this product at this time. You must repair the problem by uninstalling and then reinstalling this product or contacting your IT administrator or Adobe customer support for help.

The licensing information can become corrupted in a variety of ways but if it’s never worked in the first place then you’re dealing with an install issue and the following steps probably won’t work.

Mac (OS X) Fix for: “Licensing for this product has stopped working.”

  1. Go to HD > Library > Preferences > FLEXnet Publisher > FLEXnet and locate “adobe_00080000_tsf.data” (it will probably be the only file in that folder)

    tsfdatafile

  2. Move “adobe_00080000_tsf.data” to a new location. It doesn’t matter where you move it to, just make sure it’s not in the FLEXnet folder.
  3. Launch InDesign.

If that doesn’t work try deleting you Adobe Cache Database files. Only do this if you have your full serial number available!

  1. Go to HD > Library > Application Support > Adobe > Adobe PCD > cache and locate “Cache.db”. It should be the only file there. Rename, move or delete this file.

  2. Moving or a renaming is recommended since that way you aren’t getting rid of data. For files like this one Adobe programs recreate the file if it’s not correctly named and in the correct location. If it’s deleted, moved or renamed it’s seen as missing and is then recreated. It is recreated without your serial number though so you will have to reenter it upon launching your program.

One of those two fixes should resolve the issue.

Happy InDesigning.

“Licensing for the product has stopped working”

I had this problem with my cs3 products as I’ve noticed alot of people are having the same problem , so i took some time to write out a solution for those of you who can’t fix it.What actually happens is there is a error during installation of your program and all files werent installed correctly. Or you installed the program, uninstalled, and tried to reinstall. Or maybe you did a system recovery. Basically, the files and folders go mixed up and its just a big mess with missing folders that cant be found.
